Care of Silk

The following washing instructions are for
'Art on Silk' products, and meant only
as guidance for other silk items.
Art on Silk items can be hand washed
- the dyes used are fixed!
Scarves & ties have been washed in the finishing process, as have the handbag fronts.

Scarves - light and medium weight silks.
Wash by hand, using warm water with a gentle detergent for silk or wool.
Use a dash of fabric conditioner in the final rinse.
Wring gently in a rolled towel, before drying by ironing with a cool steam iron.
NB. If you have ever experienced brown 'rust like' marks on silk scarves, it is because perfume has accidentally been sprayed on to the silk. This can be avoided by applying perfume first, and letting dry for a minute, before putting the scarf on.

Infinity Snood Scarf Warm Textured Silk - medium to heavy weight silks.
Wash by hand, using warm water with a gentle detergent for silk or wool.
Use a dash of fabric conditioner in the final rinse.
Wring gently in a rolled towel, before leaving to dry.
Iron with a medium steam iron.

Garments.
Treat the same as for a scarf.
You may prefer to let the silk 'drip dry', if so iron before the garment gets 'bone dry'.

Ties.
Wash by hand, using warm water with a gentle detergent for silk or wool.
Use a dash of fabric conditioner in the final rinse.
Wring gently in a rolled towel.
Hang over a clothes maiden to dry.
Iron with a cool steam iron using a damp muslin or thin cloth.

Handbags.
Wash by hand, using warm water with a gentle detergent for silk or wool.
Use fabric conditioner in the final rinse.
Dab gently in a towel to get excess water off.
Leave to dry naturally, either flat or drip dry.
Use a cool to medium steam iron.
